Berit has a B.S. in Public Health and a B.A. in French. She lives in Arlington, Virginia where she moved five years ago as an intern and then met her husband and never left. Her first job in DC was with the Ethiopian Community Development Council, as a resettlement caseworker focused specifically on employment. She also spent a lot of time interviewing and working with refugees to learn and spread their inspiring and important stories. Berit then worked for USAID in the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance before deciding to stay home with her daughter and now teaches French for an online high school, and spends most of her time with her little family soaking up all the great parts of living so close to our nation's capital.
