Responding to immediate needs, charities need the following
- monetary donations
- in-kind donations
(Especially shoes, coats, buggies, baby carriers, smartphones) - spare rooms or housing you can offer
(Currently only taking offers of accommodation if you live in a city) - volunteers who can sort donations, provide transportation, befriend Afghan refugees, teach English or assist with administrative tasks
It comes as no surprise that mental health issues are common among refugees. Fleeing your home and country means loss and disconnection, but knowing what disconnects can help build reconnection.
