For as long as I remember, I was interested in people. Not in a creepy, stalking way, but more in a sense of this genuine wish to find out their story, to find out who they are. Here also lies the reason for my love of languages, and as of today I speak nine. I am from Slovenia and volunteered during the 2015 refugee“crisis”; spending more time in the refugee centers than in school. This might not have helped my formal education but gave me the opportunity to simply be there for people and listen to what they wanted to tell me. Experiences I got while working there through my freshman and sophomore years of high school led me to start my major in social work, which I haven’t completed. People are often fixated on the future, trying to find the answer for what will happen in the next few years, but I have no idea. I hope I will be able to move from Slovenia and maybe start a new project, but as of right now I just try and take each day as it comes.
