The Afghan Adjustment Act Explained

The Afghan Adjustment Act has been “on” and “off,” “bi-partisan” and “political,” “for sure” and “never going to happen.” As a piece of legislation, the Act is how we keep our promises to tens of thousands of Afghans who protected and supported US troops stationed in Afghanistan for the last twenty years. Like the majority of people who wanted adjustment acts for places like Cuba, Vietnam, and Iraq. veterans, people of faith, and ordinary citizens are overwhelmingly in favor of providing this path forward for the recently evacuated Afghan refugees.

As the legislative session will draw to a close around September 5, 2022. There are several weeks left in which phone calls, emails, and meetings with law makers could make the difference for over 75,000 Afghan refugees.
