Afghanistan: Resettlement and How You Can Help in Washington State

The Afghan Health Initiative is seeking donations toward its Emergency Fund for Afghan Refugees (Donate — Afghan Health Initiative) and is seeking volunteers to welcome and temporarily house new Afghan refugee arrivals (FAQs 1 — Afghan Health Initiative) and to help with apartment set-up, airport pick-up, meal assistance, transportation assistance, mentorship, tutoring, and English as a Second Language skill (Volunteering to help newly arrived Afghan refugees. The Afghan Health Initiative also has information and lists for Welcome Kits being collected by Lutheran Community Services NW and World Relief Services, which will provide essential items to refugee families (How to Help — Afghan Health Initiative)

Lutheran Community Services Northwest has already welcomed more than 40 Afghan allies with Special Immigrant Visas. They are collecting welcome kits and are in need of donations (LCSNW (neoncrm.com) and will have volunteer and community engagement opportunities in the near future.
